Bowling Club Update - Feb 23rd 2021

Last years bowling was totally non-existent for all of us, but here's hoping 2021 will see us get back to what we all enjoy.

As you may remember the green did eventually open and we were able to offer the greens facilities for you to practice on. We also reduced the fees and even returned fees if requested.

Going forward into 2021 -

We are waiting for the BCBGA to confirm when the greens can be opened and will advise you when this happens.

The greens have been continually worked on during the winter and so have the surrounds (big thank you to Bob, Jeff and the team)

Sub's will be as follows for 2021 -

£30.00 Seniors

£20.00 Senior Citizens (over 65)

£10.00 Under 18

Please note that you will need to become a member of the Sports & Social Club when becoming member of the bowling club, but this is to be paid direct to the club themselves.

Please support the bowling club as without your membership and participation with the Bonus Ball we would not be able to offer you such good facilities.

Bowling Club Update - July 1st 2020

Good afternoon all,

Darren is doing fantastic and is 143.8 miles into his 150 mile target to raise must needed funds for the club in these uncertain times, please see his donation web link if you feel and can support.

He has single handed raise £110.00 for the club so far with a target of min £150 and will complete the challenge this Sunday finishing up the club, so almost there will just need a last push to get him over his target.

The greens and surrounds are in great condition as we keep working on them to keep them under control.

The booking system is up and running and really need you all to book your slot and get some exercise on the greens, we really need more people using them as the cost to keep greens in playing condition throughout the week needs to see some pay back on the use by the members.

To book your slot on the greens please follow this link and click on Covid 19 Green Booking tab

Following a successful grant application to Sports England we have been awarded the sum of £3,800.00 to spend on urgent and necessary plant and equipment to make the areas safe and comfortable for our members and visitors alike, please see photos below

Bob Barber will with the help of a contractor has to put in a new gutter in the bottom green (Grass verge edge)

Jen and Alan have trimmed the privet hedge around the bottom green (many thanks both) and the council will be cutting the conifers and surrounds in August,.

There is a 6M shelter and 4M pads have been completed.

Awaiting a delivery date which will be in the next couple of weeks.

We are taken up all the old gutters and started to dig out to replace with new all-round both greens

Pleaseensure safety by keeping the distancing rules as they work on and around the greens, hopefully there will be little disruption to the access to the greens and we will keeping them open during this period, so please be aware of the activities around you.

Social club is looking to reopen up around the 17th July with limited hours, they are finishing off the new toilets and awaiting the new till system to be install.
